Thank you to all the bands who applied for HPF#7. We will review all of the submissions and come up with the roster.
The way that this usually works is that we contact all of the bands by email to let them know if they are participating. We make an announcement on Facebook letting all of the applicants know that emails have gone out. Now, if your band doesn't get an email, don't consider yourself out just yet. We confirm availability with all the applicants, and if there are gaps in the set, we continue down the list.

Adriane here, just touching base and letting you know what's new for HPF7:
1. Due to a scheduling error, the festival will be on April 13, 2019. 2. We will be at Satellite Bar this year. I know that parking can be a beast, but there are places to park if you don't mind a short walk, and there's access to the light rail nearby. 3. You've asked and I'm making it happen. We're setting up mobile payments this year. We will have Paypal, Venmo, and hopefully Square to choose from. More on that soon. 4. We're shaking things up for the raffle again. If you have any ideas or requests of things you think would be nice to raffle at this all ages show, send us a facebook message! Please note: due to limited space, signage, and because I number and catalog the items before each festival, I cannot accept donations the day of the festival. However, we do appreciate raffle donations and if you just let us know ahead of time, I'll be sure to plan to display your donations and promote your business appropriately. 5. We have some great looking shirt designs underway. 6. Vendors, we will send you information if you'd like to pay your fees ahead of time. I'm still finalizing the details. Non-profits need extra paperwork and verification than creating a personal or standard business account. But I see you and it will happen. 7. I never made the store on this site because it was difficult to set us up with the 501c3 status. I am exploring other options, such as Etsy, to sell off tees from previous festivals with a heavy price cut. All of this helps fund the 4/4 Foundation and give us operational costs for next year, so we appreciate you. The after-party You came, you saw, you heard, and hopefully you had a good time.
You're probably wondering what we're up to now. Each year we start planning the next festival the day after, and this year was no exception. First, we tally up the numbers - what we brought in, our costs for this year, and our projected costs for next year's event (we're non-profit, so no paychecks around here). That's how we determine how much our donation will be. This year, part of the reason for our website's redesign is that we'd like to be able to offer you a chance to buy left over shirts from our previous festivals and use that toward the costs of securing a venue for next year. Eventually, we'd even like to be able to offer something to our local bands for all their effort. But we have to grow first, and we're still learning along the way. We'd like to thank all of the bands who gave their time, the volunteers who helped keep the party going, and most importantly, to all of the people who came to the festival. Without you, we'd never be able to give back to our community every year. Remember, when you help us promote, when you come to the show, when you buy a shirt, and when you show your friends how much fun you have, EVERY cent that isn't used to pay for operational costs is given to that charity, and I mean EVERY CENT. So, thank you. YOU made that possible. Stay tuned to our Facebook for the big hand-off to the Houston Food Bank. We're really looking forward to it! -- Houston PunkFest check your email Are you playing HPF? Are you volunteering? Are you providing a service or craft? - Jeremy There's A Documentary?! Nicole and Isha have been helping us plan and create a documentary to document the festival this year. They have helped in more ways then one. Thank you both for all the great work you have done so far. Check out Behind Second Lines website or Facebook page. Here is a link to the movie Isha helped out on.

For those not selected, we hope we can still count on your support to help promote the show, raise funds for the Houston Food Bank, and join us for a day of punk rock and camaraderie. -HPF Make yourselves heard We have closed the sign ups for the bands at this time. I would like to say heartfelt thank you to all the bands that submitted and for making our jobs more difficult. We have a record number of bands that submitted, 53 to be exact. We only have enough space for 24 though. You should expect Emails, Phone calls and other forms of communication by the 20th of February at the latest. If you chose to have an avian carrier as your preferred method of contact, please be patient as we are still training the carrier pigeon and we are not sure if he will be coming back since his first test message.
Thank you all and be safe. - Jeremy Estes |
